Round tip
A piping tip with a plain, circular opening, used to pipe smooth lines, dots, writing, swirls and the even shapes of éclairs, macarons and meringues.

- Decorating, finishing and presentation
Round tips come in many sizes. Small ones are used for writing, outlines, dots and fine details on cakes and cookies. Large round tips pipe choux pastry for éclairs and cream puffs, macaron batter, meringue kisses and smooth frosting swirls on cupcakes. They can also be used to fill pastries.
For dots and kisses, hold the bag straight up, squeeze, then stop squeezing before lifting away. For lines, hold the bag at an angle and let the icing fall onto the surface. A small peak can be pressed down with a damp fingertip.
