Piping tips
Small cone-shaped metal or plastic nozzles fitted to the end of a piping bag to shape frosting, cream, meringue and dough into lines, stars, petals and other designs.

- Equipment, utensils and bakeware
Also called: nozzles, decorating tips
Tips are grouped into families by the shape of the opening: round tips for writing, dots and filling; open and closed star tips for rosettes, shells and swirls; petal tips for flowers and ruffles; leaf tips; basketweave tips; and drop flower tips. Most are identified by numbers, though numbering varies somewhat between makers.
A coupler lets you swap tips on one bag without emptying it. Large tips suit cupcake swirls, choux pastry and churros, while small tips are best for fine details. Tips are easiest to clean while the frosting is still soft, often with a small brush.
