Marshmallow frosting
A fluffy, sweet white frosting with the flavor and texture of marshmallow, made from a cooked egg white meringue or from melted marshmallows.

- Fillings, creams, frostings and sauces
Most recipes follow the method of a boiled or seven-minute frosting: egg whites are whipped with hot sugar syrup until thick, glossy and stable. Quick versions beat marshmallow creme with butter and powdered sugar, or melt marshmallows with a little butter and milk.
The frosting is spread in swirls on chocolate cakes, cupcakes and doughnuts, and it can be lightly toasted for a s'mores effect. Meringue-based versions are best served the same day, while butter-based versions hold better at room temperature.
