A Spanish nougat made from honey, sugar, egg whites and toasted almonds, eaten especially at Christmas.

- Chocolate, sugar and confectionery
- Spain
Also called: torrone, torró
There are two classic types. Turrón de Alicante is hard and crunchy, with whole toasted almonds set in a honey and egg white nougat, often between thin wafers. Turrón de Jijona is soft and smooth, made by grinding the almonds and honey into a dense paste. Both come from the region of Valencia.
Today, many flavors are sold, including chocolate, coconut and egg yolk. Similar nougats are made in Italy, called torrone, and across the Mediterranean. Turrón is served in thin slices with coffee or sweet wine.
