Ice pop
A frozen treat made from fruit juice, purée or another sweet liquid frozen around a stick.

- Frozen desserts and sweet beverages
- United States
Also called: popsicle, ice lolly, Ice Block, Ice Drop, Icy Pole
Ice pops are among the easiest frozen desserts to make at home: blend fruit with a little sugar or syrup, pour it into molds, add sticks and freeze until solid, usually 4 to 6 hours. Sugar does more than sweeten, since it keeps the pops from freezing rock-hard and icy. Creamy versions use yogurt, coconut milk or pudding.
To release a pop cleanly, run the outside of the mold under warm water for a few seconds. The treat goes by many names, including ice lolly in Britain and icy pole in Australia.
