Crackers are made from a low-moisture dough that is rolled thin and docked with holes so it bakes flat and crisp. In baking, sweet crackers are crushed into crumb crusts, and salty crackers are used in sweet-and-salty bark and toffee.

Saltine toffee, sometimes called Christmas crack, is a popular example.
