Carrot cake
A moist, spiced cake made with grated carrots, usually topped with cream cheese frosting.

- France, Switzerland
Carrot cake is usually made with oil rather than butter, which keeps it moist for days. Finely grated carrots, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger are standard; walnuts, pecans, raisins or pineapple are common additions.
The cake bakes at about 350°F (175°C) and must cool completely before it's frosted with cream cheese frosting.
