Kitchen scale
A scale for weighing ingredients, the most accurate way to measure for baking.

- Equipment, utensils and bakeware
Also called: digital scale
A cup of flour can weigh quite different amounts depending on how it is scooped, so weighing gives far more consistent results than measuring by volume. A digital scale with a tare (zero) button lets you weigh each ingredient straight into the same bowl, and grams are the easiest unit for small amounts.
Weighing also makes it simple to scale recipes up or down and to work with baker's percentages.
