A sweet fried or baked yeast pastry with a cinnamon swirl, coated in a sugary honey glaze.

- Traditional and regional desserts
- United States
Honey buns are made from a soft enriched yeast dough, rolled with cinnamon sugar and coiled into a flat spiral. They are fried or baked until golden, then dipped in a thin glaze of sugar, honey and water, which sets into a shiny, crackly coating.
They are a popular American snack, especially in packaged form, and they resemble a glazed cinnamon roll. Homemade honey buns are best eaten warm on the day they are made.
