Crumble
A baked dessert of fruit under a crumbly topping of flour, butter and sugar, often with oats or nuts.

- Cakes, cookies, pastries and baked goods
- United Kingdom
The topping is made by rubbing cold butter into flour and sugar until it forms clumps; oats, nuts or spices are often added. It is scattered over the fruit and baked at about 350 to 375°F (175 to 190°C) until the fruit bubbles and the top is golden.
Crumble is the British name; in the US a crisp is very similar and usually includes oats. Apple, rhubarb and berry crumbles are classics, often served with custard or ice cream.
