Instructions
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the brown sugar and cook, stirring, until it melts, bubbles and smells like toffee, 3 to 4 minutes.
- Carefully pour in the water (it will sputter) and stir until any hardened sugar dissolves.
- Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the salt and vanilla.
- Cool and refrigerate in a clean bottle.
