Instructions
- Add 1/3 cup whole milk and 2 tablespoons malted milk powder to a blender, and blend briefly to combine.
- Add 2 cups vanilla ice cream, 2 shots (2 fl oz) chilled espresso, and 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract to the blender.
- Blend on low for 10 seconds, then on medium-high for 20–30 seconds, just until thick and smooth. Avoid overblending.
- Check consistency. Add 1 tablespoon milk at a time if too thick, or 1/4 cup additional ice cream if too thin.
- Pour into a chilled 16-ounce glass and top with 2 tablespoons whipped cream.
- Serve immediately with a wide straw and long spoon.
Tips
- Add malted milk powder first and blend with milk to fully dissolve before adding ice cream and espresso. Use cold ingredients to keep the shake thick and creamy.
