  • 1.0 tsp (5.0 ml)pure vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (120.0 ml)ice cubes
  • pinch of fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Add the milk to a high-speed blender first.
  2. Add the frozen pitted cherries, cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, pure vanilla extract, and fine sea salt.
  3. Add the ice cubes.
  4. Blend on low for 10 seconds, then increase to high and blend for 35–50 seconds until completely smooth.
  5. Check the consistency. Blend in 1–2 tablespoons additional milk if too thick, or a few extra ice cubes or frozen cherries if too thin.
  6. Pour into a 16-ounce glass and serve immediately.

  • For a creamier texture, substitute half the milk with plain yogurt. Use frozen cherries without added sugar for best flavor.
