Strawberry Milk
What you need
- Clear plastic cups
- Spoons
- A little plain milk
- Two sheets of white paper: one for a background and one for your color chart
- Crayons or colored pencils
Steps
- Start with the milkWash your hands first and check every ingredient with your grown-up. Make the strawberry milk together by stirring.
- BlendYour grown-up runs the blender to make the blueberry smoothie, then the strawberry milkshake, and pours each one into its own clear cup. Never put your hands or a spoon into the blender.
- Make a color chartLine up a cup of each drink on the white paper. Color a dot for each one on your chart.
- Mix twoIn new cups, mix two drinks half and half. What color do blueberry and strawberry make together? Add each new shade to your chart.
- Make it lighterStir a splash of plain milk into a spoonful of blueberry smoothie. Does it get lighter? Keep adding and coloring each new shade.
- Stack itPour the thickest drink into one cup first. Then pour a little of each other drink on top, slowly, over the back of a spoon. Thick drinks may stack in stripes for a moment.
Make it yours
- Give each new shade a name, like Berry Sunset
- Stir lemon juice into some blueberry smoothie and see if it turns redder
- Make a color for each person in your family
