Cardamom
An aromatic spice from the seed pods of a ginger-family plant, with a floral, citrusy, slightly minty flavor.

- Baking ingredients and additives
Green cardamom is the kind used in sweets; black cardamom is smoky and used mainly in savory cooking. The flavor comes from the small black seeds inside the pods; freshly ground seeds are much stronger than pre-ground cardamom.
Cardamom is central to Scandinavian buns and breads, Indian sweets and chai, and pairs well with vanilla, coffee, orange and pistachio.
