Banana cream pie
A cream pie of sliced bananas in vanilla pastry cream set in a baked crust and topped with whipped cream.

- Cakes, cookies, pastries and baked goods
The pie is assembled with a fully baked crust, layers of fresh banana slices and cooled pastry cream, then chilled for several hours to set. Whipped cream goes on top just before serving.
Bananas brown when cut, so the pie is best eaten within a day. Tossing the slices in a little lemon juice slows browning.
