Instructions

  1. Melt the white chocolate gently in the microwave or over a double boiler, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  2. Add the whole milk to a blender, then add the vanilla ice cream, melted white chocolate, cranberry sauce, and pure vanilla extract.
  3. Blend on low for 10 seconds, then on medium-high for 20–30 seconds, just until thick and smooth. Avoid overblending.
  4. Check the consistency. Add 1 tablespoon milk at a time if too thick, or 1/4 cup additional ice cream if too thin.
  5. Pour the milkshake into a chilled 16-ounce glass.
  6. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with white chocolate shavings.
  7. Serve immediately with a wide straw and long spoon.

Tips

  • Use cranberry preserves for a slightly sweeter and chunkier texture, or smooth cranberry sauce for a more uniform shake. White chocolate chips melt easily and can be substituted for chopped white chocolate.
