Baking tools for this recipe

Instructions

  1. Beat cold cream cheese and butter with the flour and salt just until a dough forms; split into four disks and chill at least 1 hour.
  2. Mix the apricot preserves, nuts, cinnamon, sugar and any added dry flavorings for the filling.
  3. Heat oven to 350°F (177°C). Roll each disk into a 23 cm circle and spread with one-quarter of the measured filling.
  4. Cut each circle into 8 triangles; roll each wedge from wide end to point, then place seam-side down on parchment.
  5. Bake 20–24 minutes until evenly deep golden; rotate tray halfway through.
  6. Cool fully; the fruit filling remains hot and sticky for several minutes after baking.

Tips

  • Measure flour by weight; extra flour makes dense, dry cookies.
  • Chilled dough and parchment promote even geometry and prevent sticking.
