  • ¾ cup (180.0 ml)milk
  • 1.0 mediumfrozen banana
  • 1.0 tbsp (7.5 g)unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.0 tbsp (15.0 ml)honey or maple syrup
  • ½ tsp (2.5 ml)pure vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (120.0 ml)ice cubes
  • small pinch fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Add the milk to a high-speed blender first.
  2. Add the frozen banana, cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, sea salt, and vanilla extract.
  3. Add the ice cubes on top.
  4. Blend on low for 10 seconds, then increase to high and blend for 35–50 seconds until completely smooth.
  5. Check the consistency. Add 1–2 tablespoons of additional milk if too thick, or a few extra ice cubes or frozen banana pieces if too thin. Blend again if needed.
  6. Pour into a 16-ounce glass and serve immediately.

Tips

  • For a vegan version, substitute the milk with almond, soy, or oat milk and use maple syrup instead of honey. Freeze banana slices in advance for a colder, creamier smoothie.
