Instructions

  1. Add the 3/4 cup milk to a high-speed blender.
  2. Add the frozen banana, rolled oats, unsweetened cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, and fine sea salt, and vanilla extract.
  3. Add the 1/2 cup ice cubes.
  4. Blend on low for 10 seconds, then increase to high and blend for 35–50 seconds, until completely smooth.
  5. Check the consistency. If too thick, blend in 1–2 tablespoons additional milk. If too thin, add a few extra ice cubes or frozen banana pieces and blend again.
  6. Pour into a 16-ounce glass and serve immediately.

Tips

  • Use frozen banana to achieve a creamy texture without needing extra ice. Rolled oats add fiber, but for a smoother texture you can briefly process them before adding.
