Instructions

  1. Pour 1/2 cup whole milk into a blender, then add 2 cups vanilla ice cream.
  2. Add 1/2 cup frozen pitted cherries and 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract to the blender.
  3. Blend on low speed for 10 seconds, then on medium-high speed for 20 to 30 seconds until the mixture is thick and smooth. Avoid overblending to retain texture.
  4. Check the consistency and adjust by adding 1 tablespoon milk at a time if too thick, or 1/4 cup additional ice cream if too thin.
  5. Pour the milkshake into a chilled 16-ounce glass.
  6. Top with 2 tablespoons whipped cream and serve immediately with a wide straw and a long spoon.

Tips

  • Use fresh cherries if available for a brighter flavor. To make ahead, blend ingredients without whipped cream, then add whipped cream just before serving.
