Instructions

  1. Add 1/2 cup (120 ml) whole milk to a blender, followed by 2 cups (480 ml) vanilla ice cream.
  2. Add 1 tbsp (15 ml) pure maple syrup, 1/4 cup (30 g) toasted pecans, chopped, and 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) pure vanilla extract.
  3. Blend on low for 10 seconds, then on medium-high for 20–30 seconds, just until thick and smooth. Avoid overblending.
  4. Check consistency. Add 1 tablespoon milk at a time if too thick, or 1/4 cup additional ice cream if too thin.
  5. Pour into a chilled 16-ounce (480 ml) glass and top with 2 tbsp (30 ml) whipped cream.
  6. Serve immediately with a wide straw and long spoon.

Tips

  • Use toasted pecans to enhance the nutty flavor and texture. For a thicker shake, add more ice cream instead of milk.
