Instructions

  1. Place a Chemex paper filter in the Chemex brewer and rinse it with hot water to remove paper flavor and preheat the brewer.
  2. Discard the rinse water and add the 30 g medium-coarse coffee grounds to the filter.
  3. Heat the filtered water to 200°F (93°C) and slowly pour about 60 ml over the coffee grounds to bloom for 30 seconds.
  4. Continue pouring the remaining hot water in slow, circular motions until you reach 16 fl oz (473 ml) total, avoiding overflowing.
  5. Allow the coffee to finish dripping through the filter.
  6. Remove the filter and serve the coffee immediately while hot.
