Instructions

  1. Add 1/2 cup (120 ml) whole milk to a blender, followed by 2 cups (480 ml) chocolate ice cream.
  2. Add 1 1/2 tablespoons (23 ml) caramel sauce and 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) pure vanilla extract.
  3. Blend on low for 10 seconds, then on medium-high for 20 to 30 seconds, just until thick and smooth. Avoid overblending.
  4. Check consistency. Add 1 tablespoon (15 ml) milk at a time if too thick, or 1/4 cup (60 ml) additional ice cream if too thin.
  5. Pour into a chilled 16-ounce glass and top with 2 tablespoons (30 ml) whipped cream and 1 teaspoon (5 ml) caramel drizzle.
  6. Serve immediately with a wide straw and long spoon.

Tips

  • Use high-quality chocolate ice cream for best flavor. For a thicker shake, use less milk or add more ice cream. The caramel drizzle can be warmed slightly for easier pouring.
