- Combine cocoa powder, sugar, and 2 fl oz (60 ml) of whole milk in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
- Whisk continuously until smooth and no lumps remain.
- Add the remaining 8 fl oz (235 ml) of whole milk and pour in the vanilla bean syrup.
- Heat the mixture, whisking occasionally, until steaming and hot but not boiling.
- Pour into a mug and serve immediately.
