Instructions

  1. Add 1/3 cup (80 ml) whole milk to a blender, then add 2 cups (480 ml) chocolate ice cream.
  2. Add 1 tbsp (15 ml) chocolate syrup, 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract, and 2 shots (60 ml) chilled espresso to the blender.
  3. Blend on low for 10 seconds, then on medium-high for 20–30 seconds until thick and smooth. Avoid overblending.
  4. Check consistency; if too thick, add 1 tablespoon milk at a time. If too thin, add 1/4 cup additional ice cream.
  5. Pour into a chilled 16-ounce glass and top with 2 tbsp (30 ml) whipped cream and 1 tsp (2 g) chocolate shavings.
  6. Serve immediately with a wide straw and long spoon.
