Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Beat the almond paste and sugar until finely crumbled, then beat in the butter until smooth and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then the flour, vanilla, and salt.
  4. Spread in the crust, scatter the sliced almonds over the top, and bake until golden and set in the center, 40 to 45 minutes.
  5. Cool on a rack for at least 2 hours before slicing.
