Make extract like we do — starting with the right beans.
A quarter pound of extraction-grade Madagascar Bourbon beans: drier, more concentrated, and priced for steeping rather than showpiece splitting. Four ounces is the classic starting point for a serious homemade extract project — enough beans to produce a strong, single-fold-plus extract you'll never find on a grocery shelf.
Why Grade B: lower moisture concentrates flavor by weight. You get more vanilla power per dollar for any infusion.
Perfect for: homemade vanilla extract (pair with our Extract Calculator for exact ratios), vanilla paste, infused sugars and syrups, brewing, and baking where beans are steeped or ground rather than displayed.
Same single-origin sourcing and grading discipline as our gourmet line — tuned for extraction.
The extract-maker's quarter pound.
