Apple pie
A pie of sliced, spiced apples baked in a pastry crust, usually with a top crust or lattice.

- Cakes, cookies, pastries and baked goods
A mix of firm-tart apples such as Granny Smith with sweeter apples such as Honeycrisp or Golden Delicious gives good flavor and slices that hold their shape. The filling is tossed with sugar, cinnamon, lemon and a thickener like flour or cornstarch.
Bake until the filling bubbles through the vents, usually about an hour at 375 to 400°F (190 to 205°C), then cool at least 2 to 3 hours so the juices thicken before slicing.
