Instructions

  1. Prepare blueberry pudding separately by cooking blueberries with sugar, milk, and thickener until set; chill until cold (about 1 cup needed).
  2. Add whole milk and vanilla ice cream to a blender.
  3. Add frozen blueberries, cold blueberry pudding, and pure vanilla extract to the blender.
  4. Blend on low for 10 seconds, then on medium-high for 20–30 seconds, until thick and smooth. Avoid overblending.
  5. Check consistency and add 1 tablespoon whole milk at a time if too thick, or 1/4 cup additional ice cream if too thin.
  6. Pour into a chilled 16-ounce glass and top with whipped cream.
  7. Serve immediately with a wide straw and long spoon.

Tips

  • Make blueberry pudding ahead to save time and chill thoroughly for best texture. For a dairy-free version, substitute plant-based ice cream and milk.
