Contributor Program
Write for VanillaGoods
We publish reported, tested, firsthand writing about the vanilla trade — pricing and supply, origin and cultivation, extraction science, and professional technique. If you work in or study this industry, we can give you access most writers can't get, and an audience that actually buys vanilla.
What contributors get
Access to our origin data
Current pricing movement, supply commentary, and demand signals from our own market intelligence work — with you credited as the analyst. This is data most writers cannot get at any price.
Introductions at origin
We work with growers, cooperatives, and curing operations across ten origins. For reported pieces, we make introductions so you can talk to primary sources directly.
Product and materials
Grade A and B beans across ten origins, extract, and our oak-barrel-aged batch — sent to you for comparative testing, photography, or recipe development.
A real byline
Your name, bio, headshot, and a link to your own work — plus a permanent author page collecting everything you publish with us. No house bylines, no anonymous posts.
An audience that buys vanilla
Your piece goes to our readers, newsletter, and social channels — chefs, bakers, manufacturers, and serious home cooks who came looking for exactly this subject.

How it works
-
Pitch
Send the form below with your background, two published samples, and a specific angle. One idea per pitch.
-
Verification
We confirm your identity, credentials, and authorship of the samples, and review the conflicts you disclosed. Nothing is assigned before this clears.
-
Scope
We agree in writing on angle, length, deadline, and what access — data, introductions, or samples — we're providing.
-
Draft and edit
You write, we edit for clarity and house style. We fact-check claims and ask for sources. Your conclusions stay yours.
-
Publish and promote
We publish with your byline and bio, add you to the author archive, and push it through our newsletter and social channels.
What we offer, rights, and disclosure
What we offer. We're an independent startup, so contributions are unpaid for now — we say that plainly rather than burying it. What we do provide is access: our origin and pricing data, introductions to growers and cooperatives, product for testing, a permanent bylined author page, and distribution to our readers and channels. As the program grows we intend to move to paid commissions, and early contributors get first refusal.
Rights. You keep copyright. We take first publication rights plus a 90-day exclusivity window, after which you're free to republish with a canonical link back.
Disclosure. Every contributor gets a real byline, bio, and author page — no house bylines, no anonymous posts. Commercial relationships you disclose are published alongside the piece where they're relevant to the subject.
Independence. We don't require that our products appear in your article, and we don't change your conclusions. We do fact-check, and we'll ask for sources.
Send a pitch
One pitch per submission. We read everything and reply to pitches that fit within about a week.
